In 2009, 85-year-old Indian politician, Narayan Datt Tiwari, was involved in a sex scandal that involved 3 women at his place of residence. The scandal resulted in N.D. Tiwari's resignation from his position of governor of Andhra Pradesh. Who Was N.D. Tiwari? Narayan Datt Tiwari was a veteran Congress Leader and former 3-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, as well as serving once as Uttarakhand's Chief Minister. Other offices that he held were as part of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's cabinet, first as the Minister for External Affairs, and then later as the Minister of Finance. The Scandal The N.D. Tiwari scandal came on the heels of a paternity suit against Tiwari the year before (2008). Images were released to the media that depicted Tiwari in a compromising position with three girls at his home in Hyderabad. On that Friday, a video was aired on a local television channel that clearly showed him in bed with 3 girls who allegedly worked at Raj Bhavan. The clip ran for an hour before airing was restrained by the Hyderabad High Court. The video footage was 3 and a half minutes long and appeared to have been shot during the night inside of Raj Bhavan. The video ended up on YouTube, being the most watched on the Saturday after the incident was leaked. That next Sunday saw the story splashed across newspapers, sparking a number of debates online regarding the conduct of India's politicians. Another private Telugu channel also aired the footage, triggering a number of female activist to stage protests outside of the Raj Bhavan, where added security was needed. Later that evening he resigned, however, his office claimed he had done so for health reasons. Tiwari claimed that the footage was morphed or doctored, and that he was being framed by a political conspiracy. N Chandrababu Naidu, president of the Telugu Desam Party and opposition leader for Andhra Pradesh, demanded that Tiwari be immediately fired over the scandal. He stated that the footage had everyone feeling ashamed and that it further depicted the falling values and ethics of politicians in their public life. Naidu also demanded that an inquiry be done by the CBI, claiming that other MP's were involved. A criminal complaint was lodged with the police by a lawyer against Tiwari for blackmail, sexually abusing girls, and misuse of office. The advocate, Gopala Krishna Kalanidhi, felt that since Tiwari no longer held the office of Governor, that he was open for criminal prosecution for abusing the Constitutional office for his personal benefits, and for the molestation of women. Fallout from a Deal Gone Sour? Staff of the Raj Bhavan were also interrogated about details relating to the case. It was alleged that this was the aftermath of a mining deal that went bad. The channel that aired the footage also alleged that a woman from Uttarakhand, named Radhika, stated that she was the one who sent these three girls to the Raj Bhavan on ND Tiwari's request via one of his aids. Radhika alleged that she had a deal with Tiwari, that he promised her a license for iron ore mining in the Andhra Pradesh but he had reneged. She stated that she wanted to expose Tiwari for what he had done. As a means to try to do damage control, the Raj Bhavan filed a PIL with the AP High Court against the channel, ABN Andhra Jyothy, which had aired the footage. They were given a restraint order to stop the footage from being aired further. The Raj Bhavan stated that there was no truth in the allegations and that it was merely sensation-mongering, stating that a defamation case would be filed against the channel. This newest scandal came on the heels of a paternity suit that was filed against Tiwari a year earlier. Rohit Sekhar filed the paternity case claiming to be the son of Tiwari. DNA mapping was ordered by the court. In July of 2012, Tiwari's lawyers petitioned to keep the paternity results a secret, but this was over-ruled by the Delhi High Court on the grounds that an end needed to be put to the controversy. The results were released and it was found that Tiwari was indeed Rohit's biological father and that his biological mother was Ujjwala Tiwari. Tiwari married Ujjwala on 2014, accepting Rohit as his son and finding a new family at the age of 88, and died at the age of 93. A Twist in the Plot Several months after the scandal initially broke out, a new story came to light involving Tiwari's OSD (Officer on Special Duty), Aryendra Sharma. Reports published in The Indian Express had alleged that Sharma played a role in getting the women that appeared on the sex tape. It was said that the OSD exclusively handled these visits. These allegations came from Mohammed Shokat Ali, then Chief Security Officer of Raj Bhavan. He claimed that Sharma violated security norms and protocols on a number of occasions to ensure that no record of their visit was ever made. Normally, a record is made of every visitor, which includes their name, address, entry and exit time. He stated that Sharma overrode security protocol and defied these security checks, instructing security staff at checkpoints that incoming vehicles belonged to the Raj Bhavan Motor Transport Department, and that they were carrying very important guests who should have an entry that was hassle free. It is said that the OSD was given priveledges and power by the Governor and would often facilitate entry in the name of family members. Ali claimed that these women mostly visited the home late at night, Effects of the Scandal The scandal came at a time when Congress was facing some upheaval. It caused investors and politicians alike to be on edge, especially in Hyderabad. The Opposition and many women's rights groups demanded Tiwari's resignation. Once the situation had been reported, the Chief Secretary of the state was told to send in a report to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on the alleged involvement of Tiwari and the sex scandal. Raj Bhavan stated that the images were false, fabricated, and malicious, and aimed at tarnishing the good reputation of the Governor and creating further unrest for Congress. The scandal ended Tiwari's long political career, however, and after Tiwari resigned he quietly left Raj Bhavan for New Delhi. He passed away at the age of 93. Reference Links-

It can be difficult for the youths of today to find decent employment opportunities. As a result, many government-funded organizations have been formed to help them gain skills and employment to help them. There is even a category for street workers, who can go to an India sexual rehab NGO to get help, skills, and proper employment. There have also been a large number of fraud Skill India programs cropping up, one of which is Sabal Bharat Sansthan, NGO in Jaipur. Established in 2016, the founder of this organization is none other than Sunil Gurjar of Nasirabad Congress. Gurjar has a political background, and a past that has been linked to a number of scandals of India. The organization is based in Jaipur, Rajasthan and they offer and conduct exams all over the country. Sabal Bharat Sansthan claims to offer a youth employment program to help them gain skills, confidence, and to empower them. What many aren’t aware of is that they are a fraud organization of Skill India program. What they offer is the promise of free training programs, employment, and scholarships. They offer candidates a chance to take their Sabal Bharat Exam for a fee, telling them that they are selected for their programs based on their skill levels. To the poor and unemployed, this seems like a dream come true. But this fake organization plays on the vulnerabilities of these people, drawing them in with the promise of a better future. They collect their money, have them take their test, and they are not heard from again. It’s a sad case of NGO corruption in India. The organization tries to come across as being part of the government initiative to help empower and employ these vulnerable individuals. By doing so, they negatively affect the efforts and work of legitimate NGOs. Such is the corrupt reality of NGOs in India. Sunil Gurjar’s Sabal Bharat conducts these exams, where millions of students attend from all over India. Bear in mind that India has a massive amount of unskilled and unemployed laborers. Candidates are required to pay INR 560 upfront to take the exam. That’s about $10.00 USD, which doesn’t seem like a lot. But multiply this by the hundreds of thousands of candidates pulled in from that huge pool of unskilled and unemployed people, and it comes to quite a large amount of money, The exam is meant to test the skills of each candidate in order to be selected for a specific Sabal Bharat program, of which there are 4; Scholarship, Residential, Employment, and Sports Talent. They claim that, once the exam has been taken, the results will be posted on their website and sent to each individual via text within a months time. Many find that two or three months will go by and they will still have heard nothing. Many of these candidates will contact Sabal Bharat after having taken the exam and waiting, to get no response from the organization. You can find a number of reviews across Google and Facebook that complain of this. Also, Google “list of fraud NGOs in India”. Other candidates have reported that their results were declared but the organization never got back to them regarding their promised free training or scholarships. The way Sabal Bharat attracts its candidates is through paid advertising and a team of agents that go into rural areas to prey on the poor and unemployed. They will make claims that they will provide free training and programs to help develop skills in order to find good paying jobs. They then collect the money and make sure the candidates get to the exam. When you work it out, with 10,000 candidates paying INR 560, they will roughly make about $78,500 USD. 100,000 candidates makes them around $786, 900 USD. Usually the number of students that come to take this exam number in the hundreds of thousands and it is done twice a year! It is the top fraud NGO in India! It’s easy for people to fall prey to this fraud Skills India program. They present a very professional looking website to start with. They offer impressive programs and syllabus’. They even have logos for Skill India, NSDC, and PMVY on their sites, as well as all of these business and government associates, none of which they are actually affiliated with. The business and government links are part of the scam as well. All are retired bureaucrats with their finger in the same pie. When you start doing a bit of research the organization starts to look less and less legitimate. If you were to visit their head office in the more posh area of Jaipur, you would see it’s nothing more than a 2 story building with nothing more to it. You would expect a huge and busy office for an organization that is supposedly training hundreds of thousands of students. But all they are doing are collecting exam fees and nothing more. The office is just a front to look professional and legitimate. It’s one of the top fraud NGOs of India, who are basically scamming money from the poor. Sadly, the government is hand-in-hand with them, with 20 to 30% of the revenue they take going to them. This is how they get away with doing this. Even worse, the founder, Sunil Gurjar, also known as Sunil Gujjar, was involved in a number of high profile political and government scandals in the past few years. Many have heard of the Bhanwari Devi Murder case. It was a scandal of India in which powerful ministers sexually exploited a midwife from Rajasthan for several years. It was reported that she was carrying the child of one of these ministers as well. In the end, she was murdered, her body burnt, and then unceremoniously dumped in a canal. It was one of the largest political scandals of Rajasthan and Sunil Gurjar, who is the son of a Nasirabad Congress Member of Legislative Assembly, was closely involved. And this is the man who is the founder of an NGO that is focused on helping the unemployed and unskilled students of India? You can search Google to find a number of reports linked to sex scandals that rocked India and the Rajasthan political scandal that have Sunil Gurjar’s name attached. He was part of a blackmail attempt of Mahipal Maderna, having copies of a sex CD with Maderna and Devi. Devi was murdered because she knew who struck the blackmail deal, who the middleman was, and who had the copies of the CD. Who was the middleman circulating the sex CD in this sex scandal of India? None other than Sunil Gujjar aka Sunil Gurjar. He has a history of extorting, blackmailing, and gaining money through unscrupulous means. Sadly, because Gujjar has political backing, he seems to be untouchable and allowed to get away with taking money, as well as the hopes and dreams of the poor, unemployed, and vulnerable people of India. Indira Bishnoi was one of the main people accused in the disappearance and murder of mid-wife Bhanwari Devi. She had been on the run since 2011 and was discovered last June in a shelter in Madhya Pradesh’s Dewas and subsequently arrested. But what exactly was her role in this murder case? First, we need to look at where it all began, with the murder case. The murder case was responsible for destroying the political careers of two influential families in Jodhpur, the Bishnoi family and Maderna family. Who was Bhanwari Devi? Bhanwari Devi was a trained nurse and midwife who went missing in 2011 and was then found murdered 4 months later. During her time as a midwife, Devi made several connections with politicians. She soon came to realize that her sex appeal held a power that she could use to over these bureaucrats and politicians to advance herself. She was able to get the best postings in her career, and also helped others to do so for money. It was noticed how quickly she amassed riches that were far beyond the means of a midwife. Her husband, Amarchand, worked as a vehicle driver and was an alcoholic. She used her riches to buy cars and several houses, as well as ornaments of gold each year. Over time, Devi became overly ambitious. It was in 2013 when she tried to demand a ticket to contest the Bhopalgarhstate elections and was refused that she resorted to blackmail these leaders. Devi had recorded a video that was over 50 minutes long, showing these leaders with her in very compromising decisions. She demanded money in exchange for the CD. Of these leaders were: Mahipal Maderna – one of the Rajasthan governments cabinet ministers Malkhan Singh Bishnoi – a legislator who continued a decade long relationship with Devi. Malklan Bishnoi was unwilling to believe repeated claims of him being the father to one of her daughters. He refused demands for a paternity test to be done and did not believe her claims of having the CD. Frustrated, Devi leaked part of the CD in August of 2011 to a local newspaper, which printed photos that included Maderna. It was also leaked to a local news channel. It was a few days later that Devi went missing, with her husband claiming that Maderna had ordered her abduction. The Abduction and Murder The CBI investigation found that the 36-year-old midwife was abducted from the Bilara area of Jodhpur on the 1st of September, 2011. She was murdered around the same time, with her body being given to a gang to dispose of. The body was burned and then dumped in a canal. It was 4 months later that the CBI found her body. 3 charge sheets have so far been filed by the CBI against 17 people. Of these 17 are Madema, Malkhan Bishnoi, and his sister, Indira Bishnoi, who went into hiding. Ms. Bishnoi is believed to have assisted in planning the murder of Devi with her brother. According to the CBI, Maderna contacted Sahiram Bishnoi, who was his confidante at the time. Sahiram hired a government contractor, Sohan Lal Bishnoi. A plot was created between criminal Shahabuddin and the Bishnois’ to obtain Devi’s CD by any means possible. This took place before the leak. As part of the plan, Sohan agreed to buy Devi a car and make a payment to her. Devi was lured to Bilara by Sohan to make the last payment for the car, with the agreement that he verify the CD she claimed to have. It was then that she was strangled to death and her body was handed over to the gang for disposal.

Abhishek Manu Singhvi is known widely as being one of Indian National Congress' most important leaders and spokespersons. He is a leading lawyer, the Supreme Court of India's senior advocate, Chairperson of the standing committee on law and justice, and is currently a Member of Parliament of India who represents Rajasthan in the Rajya Sabha. Many will have seen him day in and out on news channels as he criticizes the opposition and supports his policies in Government. Singhvi began his political career at the age of 37 when he became the youngest man to become part of the Additional Solicitor General of India, in 1997. It was a position he held for a full year. In 2001 he became the National Spokesperson for the INC. Currently, he is a member of the Ministry of External Affairs' Consultative Committee, the Chairman for the Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, a member of the General Purposes Committee, and a Law and Justice Member. If you look at the news on Singhvi recently, however, you will see that he is going through a very hard time in his political career than he has ever faced before. This all comes down to a sex scandal that Singvi was allegedly involved in back in 2012 when he was caught in his Supreme Court chamber in a very compromising position. The Scandal On April 23rd of 2012, a sex video was leaked that involved the Congress leader and another female senior lawyer. News reports stated that the sexual act was in exchange for the promise that Singhvi would help the female lawyer gain a judgeship. This, however, could not be proven at the time. The video appeared to have been recorded in a Court Chamber room. It was very grainy and not overly explicit. However, there was no doubt about the sexual nature and activity that was being recorded. There was no mention between the two people that referred to an offer of judgeship either. The video was just over 12 minutes in length and was first uploaded to YouTube the Thursday before, at around 9 pm. Within 20 minutes the video was pulled from the site because it violated the terms of service regarding sexual content and nudity on YouTube. However, a Facebook page was also created that had links to the video, with the suggestion that the person who created the page had more videos with incriminating evidence that would implicate other leading politicians. Singhvi made many attempts to block the telecast from mainstream media legally. However, it kept cropping up on other sites, had been uploaded to torrent servers and file sharing platforms so that people could download it, and was being posted repeatedly throughout the night. By Monday morning, many sites were streaming the leaked footage as embedded videos, with people posting links on Twitter and mocking Singhvi. Singhvi's driver at the time, Mukesh Kumar Lal, was the person accused of filming the CD and then using it to blackmail Singhvi, threatening to make it go public. Singhvi has claimed that the video is a forgery, that it was fabricated to hurt his political career. There is, however, the mention of other videos. Should one of these other videos exist, and mentions the promise of a judgeship as believed, it would be more ruinous than a video showing two people having consensual sexual activities. As a result, Singhvi was forced to resign as Chairman of the Parliamentary standing committee of law and justice, and as Congress spokesperson. Effects of the Scandal The fallout from this scandal was a rising star in the party being shut down, his career being ruined. It also has shown that videos such as these, fake or not, will always find a way of getting out on social media, regardless of the efforts being made. The only alternative would be to clamp down on free speech, a move that would have leaders dealing with an even bigger backlash. The CD can still be found on many torrent sites and could once again be aired on any social media site years on. Singhvi has blamed social media for sensationalism and had stated that it was an organized gang that was involved in the contents of the video being broadcast. The plain fact is, once out on social media, nothing can really stop it. Reference Links-
Have you heard of Sabal Bharat Sansthan NGO in Jaipur? It was established in 2016 and is a non-governmental organization whose main goal is said to be that of empowering India's youth through education, the development of useful skills, employment opportunities, and more. At least, that is what they claim to be doing. In reality, they run one of the biggest scams of India. It was recently discovered that Sabal Bharat Sansthan exam is a huge fraud Skill India program that takes money from the vulnerable and poor, giving them nothing in return. One of its claims is that they find you work based on your skills and talents. They further add that this training comes from a government initiative and is free. Sunil Gurjar Nasirabad Congress MLA, who is the organizations' founder, has a political past and background though. He has links to a major Rajasthan political scandal and was also involved in one of the biggest sex scandals that rocked India. The way this company works is by using a system of exams. They target the poorest and those who are most desperate to find work. So the organization will invite these people to take one of their exams, with a mandatory payment of INR 560. The exam is meant to test and judge their skill levels. It seems pretty straight forward so far. If you look at their website, it is fairly professional looking and well laid out. They offer 3 main programs; the Sabal Employment, Sabal Residential, and Sabal Scholarship, with a 4th program, called the Sabal Sports Talent program. The website claims that the organization bases its selection process on the merits of the resulting exams and marks received by each applicant. The non-biased exams consist of 100 questions. They claim that the exam results will be given to those who participated via a text message and on their website. They promise results are posted within 2 months of taking the exam. However, these results are never posted on their website, nor are texts received. The organization does have to give some semblance of legitimacy though and will post a few random results on their website. Whether these belong to existing participants or not is another story. It seems, out of thousands and thousands of applicants, only a rare 50 to 100 are chosen for any kind of scholarship. You can also find many reviews online from applicants who are, after several months, still waiting for results. Basically, this organization takes advantage of the vulnerable and poor, takes their money and never makes good on their promises or gives anything back. It's a prime example of NGO corruption in India. It's not just the money that they take from the poor though. They also promise them a chance at a better life and career. Candidates are asked to attend an exam that will then lead them to get a good job, as well as other crucial benefits, such as free boarding and skill training. How Do They Continue To Get Away With It? Now, INR 560 (around $10) may not sound like a lot, but to those who are destitute, it is quite a bit. Keep in mind that this organization collects this from thousands of candidates, which adds up to millions over time. By only taking these small amounts, it allows organizations like these to keep under the radar. They are the top fraud NGO of India. You're probably wondering how they can keep getting away with this, running a fraud organization of Skill India program without government or bureaucratic assistance. The secret is they are getting help. It's entire board consists of retired bureaucrats, all of who have deep connections within the government and in politics. This is the reality of NGO's in India. All of these government officials that are linked to this NGO have some stake in the organization. Their greed makes certain that this NGO corruption in India keeps going. This type of scheme would not work otherwise. You're looking at very powerful people against the word of those who are poorest. It's no guess who is going to win out in the end. It's one of the saddest scandals of India. As mentioned earlier, Sunil Gurjar has quite a strong background in politics. He has also had a hand in some political scandals of Rajasthan in his past. One of the most recent of these saw him involved in a case of forgery, in which he deceived his brother-in-law. For anyone else, this would have led to an arrest. However, Sunil Gurjar barely got a slap on the wrist and was told the matter had to be settled between him and his brother-in-law using the assistance of the police. The brother-in-law, who is the victim here, was then told by the police to go settle the issue on his own. It seems no one can touch this fraudster. He was also involved in one of the more notorious sex scandals of India that involved the murder of a midwife. Sadly, when a tempting offer is laid before people who are in desperate need, it becomes far too easy to take advantage of them, and it can happen to anyone. The promise of a well-paying job in a place where jobs are hard to come by for the poor and jobless isn't something many will pass up. The offer of free training and workshops that teach you to become an entrepreneur seem like a dream come true for many. There are even India sexual rehab NGOs that help people get out the sex trade and into decent jobs. These poor people are charged the fee, take the exam, and then wait for the promised results. The problem is, those results never get issued. Candidates wait for results, the promise of free training and a good paying job that just never come. When they try to find out what is happening they are promised the results are coming soon or they receive no response at all from the organization. They have lost their money and have no hope of ever having it refunded. Sabal Bharat is the top fraud NGO on India. The worst part is that this organization claims it is government funded when nothing could be further from the truth. A fraud skill India program such as this overshadows the real efforts of true non-profit government-funded organizations that are helping to better the situations of those who are poor and jobless. It casts a shadow on their efforts and has made many people wary of going for help. This is one of the biggest reasons that poverty and unemployment are so high in India, even with all that is being funded by the government to rectify this. The money that is intended to help the poor is being siphoned to dishonest officials and corrupt individuals like Sunil Gurjar's Sabal Bharat. Knowing how to identify a fake NGO is the first important step. You can google “list of fraud NGOs in India” to check if they are on them. If an organization like Sabal Bharat is offering what seems too good to be true, then it probably is. The Ministry of Social Justice has a list of banned NGO's in India whose grants have been suspended. Sabal Bharat is definitely a fraud NGO name that you want to steer clear of. Reference Links-
The Travel and Dearness Allowance, also known as TA/DA, fell under scrutiny in 1996 when it was discovered that some high ranking council members were abusing the allowance, It's known today as the TA/DA Scam and is one of the biggest scams in India. Travel and Dearness Allowances Travel allowance refers to money that is paid to employees for travel and other expenses when they are doing business tours. This would include hotel, meal, and ticket expenses. Dearness allowances are allotted to employees and pensioners in the public and government sectors and are a cost of living allowance. The scandal took place in India's Karnataka state during the Siddaramaiah administration. Eight LMC (Member of Legislative Council) of the Karnataka Legislative Council had been submitting phony bills to claim the TA/DA allowances. It was N. Manjunath Prasad, the then BBMP commissioner, who exposed these members and the scam. There were two main cases being investigated. In one case, it is believed that the TA/DA scam cost $54,000 dollars (37 Lakh Rupees) for the state exchequer. Those involved in the scandal were R.B Thimmapur, who later became excise minister, G. Raghu Achar, C.R. Manohar, Allum Veerabhadrappa, S. Ravi, M. D. Lakshminarayana, N. S. Boseraju, and N. Appaji Gowda. Another case, against Tariq Hanif Joiya, who was a district police officer in the Rahim Yar Khan district, saw as much as Rs 11.3 million being embezzled. It was confirmed, in a second fresh inquiry team set up by the home secretary, that many bogus travel and daily allowance requests had been made and paid. It seems that there have been ongoing instances of fraud with TA/DA made by government employees, some of which are high profile. It led to Indian Railways' passenger reservation data being seized by the ministry of finance in an attempt to get the fraud under control. It was discovered that forged or bogus rail tickets were being submitted with TA claims. Another audit report from AK Saxena, the Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts, discovered that there were 3,500 TADA claims that had been made by IAF personnel, which included 400 officers who ranked as high as Air Commodore, had been faked. The estimated amount of this fraud over a period of 5 years amounted to about Rs 350 crore (over $51,100,000). As a result, the auditor has recommended that strict actions be taken against these high-ranking officers that would affect their chances of promotion. Many of the travel tickets had forged the signatures of the civil aviation ministry's undersecretary to bypass having to get the mandatory approval from the ministry when flying on any airline other than Air India. Other officers had tried to digitally alter the ticket amounts in order for them to show higher fares. It was also found that hotel bills had been grossly inflated, and it was suspected by the auditors that this scam may be a well-organized case of racketeering given how widely spread the forgery had taken place and the amount of personnel that was involved across all military branches. The methods used were consistent across all cases, as was information technology being used. The modus operandi for this scam was to enable those involved to make money by cheating the system. The scandalous aspect is how many high ranking politicians and military personnel were involved in the scam. Two lovers who took their own lives because they could not be together. It soon turned more sinister, however, when it was discovered that they were both murdered for what seemed like political reasons. The Story of Shilpi and Gautam In July of 1999, in Patna Bihar, two bodies were discovered by the Gandhi Maidan Police. The bodies were those of Shilpi Jain and Gautam Singh. They were found in the garage of MLA Quarter, number 12, inside of a White Maruti Zen. Shilpi Jain was the daughter of Kamla Stores owner, Ujjwal Kumar Jain. She was a former Miss Patna beauty queen. Gautam Singh was a youth wing leader of the ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal's party. His father was a London-based doctor. It sounds like the perfect love story. However, Shilpi's family were against her relationship with Gautam Singh. Her father, who was a businessman, was resentful of Gautam's political ambitions. Both were depressed, believing there was no future for them. It is believed that they married in secret and, on the night they were last seen, had intended on consummating their marriage. They hade been with friends until late in the evening. Their friends stated they were upset and sad. It was believed, at the time, that they had a suicide pact. A medical examination showed that Shilpi had sex before allegedly killing herself. Suicide of Murder? It wasn't until a week later that Shilpi's parents broke their silence and claimed their daughter was murdered. The parents of Gautam had, so far, stayed out of the limelight. Local media pointed out some glaring loopholes in the theory given by the police as well. And many political figures had fingers pointing at them as possible culprits. The investigation was handled badly from the start. There was the question of why so many politicians have appeared on the scene before the police turned up. Who told them about the deaths? The car that the bodies were found in had been driven by a constable to the police station. This rendered it impossible to collect any fingerprints from the steering wheel. One of the inconsistencies in the police report was that the garage they were found in was locked from the inside. However, the key was missing. This draws the question of how anyone outside knew there were two dead bodies inside. It was suggested that only someone who had prior knowledge of the situation could have called the police. M.S Bhatia, the City Superintendent of Police, claimed that both Shilpi and Gautum died from a sleeping pill overdose or poisoning. However, a more thorough report would be needed to find out exactly what had happened. The CBI Steps In The political uproar over the killings forced the State Government to hand the case over to the CBI. When the CBI took over the case they collected the vaginal fluid of Shilpi and sent that off for DNA testing in Hyderabad. A high profile youth leader of RJD was asked for a blood sample. This could not be obtained because the person in questions would not cooperate. When the results of the DNA report came back, it showed that Shilpi had been raped before she died, by more than one person. The identities of these individuals were not revealed. It looked more and more like this was a murder and not a suicide. But who did it and why? In Patna, there were rumors that the murders had actually taken place elsewhere. The bodies were then moved to where they were found in the Maidan Quarter, by a number of influential people. One of the main accused was Sadhu Yadav, who was a business partner of Gautum Sign. They ran a restaurant together. It is believed that Sadhu is the person who refused DNA testing at the time. Yadav is the brother of Rabri Devi, who is married to Lalu Prasad Yadav. Both where senior RJD leaders. Many felt that the local police intentionally destroyed any evidence that may have pointed to the real culprits in this case. Sushil Modi, who was then Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, pointed a finger at the relatives of the Chief Minister as being involved. He also felt that the police were trying to hush up the case. Four years after the CBI took on the investigation, the case was closed. It was stated that it was a case of suicide and that no murder or rape had taken place. The parents of Shilpi still believe that their daughter and Gautam were murdered. They question why it took 4 years for the CBI to reach a conclusion if there was no evidence of murder and rape. References-
Of all the scandals in India, those revolving around the Nehru College of Engineering and Research Center are quite dark. The college was established in 2002 and is located in Kerala India, in the Thrissur District. It was a self-financed college that used the college to make money. Students were threatened, fined, and beaten on a daily basis by college management. When the suicide of a student took place, it opened up the immense scandal going on across a number of these self-financed colleges. It was stated by the Kerala Chief Minister that some organizations opened colleges for the sheer purpose of profit. This made these colleges ripe for corruption. Abuse and Illegal Fees Scandal In January of 2017, Jishnu Pranoy was found hanging in the bathroom of his hostel. Jishnu was a science student, aged 18 years. It is believed that he committed suicide as a result of constant harassment by college management. This was a result of him being found cheating on a semester exam, which was later found to be a lie. Jishnu's body had a number of torture marks. It was discovered that the college authorities had refused to bring Jishnu to the hospital for his injuries. Jishnu's suicide sparked a string of violent protests from the students. A number of students stepped forward to talk about the constant harassment that they faced in the college. Reports revealed that students were assaulted in special torture rooms on the premises of the college. The college and media attempted to cover up the issue. Media reports only referred to the college as “a popular college” rather than give the name. This fact brought further outrage. It was Kairali People TV that finally revealed which college it was to the public. Jishnu's death brought many students together who spoke about their experiences at the college. Investigation and Suspensions Investigations discovered that college had lied about Jinshu being caught cheating. It was shown that no complaints regarding cheating were sent to the KTU investigation team. University rules state that any exam incidents be reported that same day. It was further discovered that the seat in which Jishnu sat on the day of the exam made it impossible for him to see any other student's papers. All of the students taking that exam have testified that Jishnu did not cheat or copy anyone's paper. Students made allegations that it was Dr. N K Sakthivel, the Vice-principal, who physically assaulted Jishnu. Violent protesting led to the suspension of Sakthivel, Sanjith Viswanathan, the college's public relations officer, and teacher C. P. Praveen. Why Was Jishnu Targeted? Basically, they wanted to stop him from shedding light on their illegal actions. The investigation showed that those accused of Jishnu's death had it out for him because Jishnu had posted on social media about the illegal activities at the college. To punish him, Krishnadas and the others who were accused hatched a plan to accuse Jishnu of copying an exam. They even fabricated evidence to support their lie. C.P. Praveen took part as the person who “caught” Jishnu cheating. Oddly enough, he claimed the student being cheated from was also named Jishnu. Both were taken to the Principal's office, but he refused to take part in the conspiracy, asking that both students be let go. However, only one of the students was let go, the other, Jishnu Pranoy, was taken to the vice principals office where he was mentally and physically tortured for 2 hours. All evidence of the conspiracy was destroyed by Krishna and PRO Sanjith. Outcome When the five accused knew that their arrests were imminent, they went into hiding. So far, none of them have been found. This scandal has brought to light the criminal activities going on in a number of self-financed colleges and what corrupt people will do to keep things quiet. 2012's Karnataka video clip controversy was a scandal that hit both the BJP and MLA. It's been nicknamed “porngate” by in social media. It involved local media filming two ministers who appeared to be watching pornographic material on their mobile phones while the Karnataka legislation was in session. It eventually led to the resignation of these ministers. What Took Place First, we need to go back to the international Spring Zouk festival that took place in February of 2012. The festival takes place at St. Mary's Islands on Udupi beach and is attended by thousands of people, mainly foreign tourists. A video was taken of someone engaging in public sex, and it was this video that is part of the scandal. During a KLA session, two cabinet ministers from BJP, C.C. Patil and Laxman Savadi, where caught on camera watching what allegedly was the clip from the Spring Zouk festival on their mobile phones. In the TV visuals, you can clearly see the two ministers watching the clip on Savadi's phone while exchanging banter. The ministers tried to say that it was part of a behavioral investigation on how foreign tourists behaved at this state tourism organized celebration. The Fallout The incident saw reactions from media, political, and social sectors. As soon as the incident came out in the news, opposition parties, including JDS leader Y.S.V Datta, and Congress leader Siddaramaiah called for both ministers to resign. The ministers involved gave their resignations, which the party accepted. The Speakers was also urged by Siddaramaiah to bar Patil and Savadi from the assembly. He stated that the behavior of the ministers was an insult to the people who had elected them, calling their actions disgraceful. All of the officials involved were reprimanded by B.S. Yeddyurappa, a BJP party leader, and the Chief Minister of Karnataka. However, social activist, Anna Hazare felt they should be imprisoned for their offense. Meanwhile, the attention the incident drew from international media was focused on one thing. How these members even made it into a party that condemns this type of behavior in the first place? The hashtag #porngate became February 8th's highest trending word, and social media sites, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter were swamped with searches of the incident. Even more disturbing is that C.C. Patil was a former child and women development minister. He was known for being a very vocal advocate regarding dress codes for women. People wanted answers from BJP as to why they were defending and justifying hypocritical members who acted as moral police, yet violated the codes of acceptable behavior. The behaviors of these two ministers show the blatant disregard that politicians have for the tax-payers' money and the solemnity of the House. These are the people who voters are trusting to make moral judgments about acceptable behavior. However, they don't seem to be following those judgments when it comes to their own behavior. The incident brings into question how many other corrupt ministers and political figures have been voted in. How did they win their positions? There has been a public outcry for an overhaul and changes to be made. References-
